Frequently asked questions

How do I connect by scanning a Wi-Fi QR code?+

Open the camera app on an iPhone (iOS 11+) or a recent Android phone and point it at the code. A prompt to join the network appears — tap it. No separate app is needed.

Which security type should I choose?+

Almost all modern routers use WPA (this also covers WPA2 and WPA3). Choose WEP only for very old networks, or “No password” for an open network.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe?+

Yes. The QR code is generated entirely in your browser and your network name and password are never sent anywhere.

Can I use this for a hidden network?+

Yes — tick “Hidden network” and the code will include the flag phones need to find and join a non-broadcast SSID.
